Earlier in the week, Secretary of State Christophe Sirugue inaugurated a new production line at the Chiesi pharmaceutical laboratory based in Chaussée Saint Victor, not far from the IDEC Group’s offices in Blois.
This inauguration marked the end of an extension project (5,580m² extension for a total surface area of 8,200m²) designed and constructed by Pharmadec’s teams to double the surface area of the production premises specializing in aerosols to combat respiratory diseases.
10-year master plan, construction of a production building, replanning of an administrative building, laboratories and a cafeteria, extension of the storage areas and a cold room – for several years now, Pharmadec has been supporting this company that specializes in manufacturing inhalation powders, as Franck Viljin, the Director of the Chiesi plant in Chaussée Saint Victor recently reminded us. “We started discussing the strategic plan to develop our premises with Pharmadec, which is known for its expertise and great projects, in 2003. After the first work (in 2007, extending the warehouses as well as the storage and handling capacities), we were convinced by the ‘turnkey’ experience with its security and construction guarantee.”
This 22-million-euro investment should make the Chaussée Saint Victor premises a European benchmark for the Italian group Chiesi. Ultimately, 7 million boxes should leave the production lines. New jobs should also be created in addition to the 50 people already hired in the last fifteen years.
