IDEC SANTÉ is working with CHIESI on overhauling its pharmaceutical industrial site located in La Chaussée-Saint-Victor (41). This large-scale project, which was conceived to support the development of this specialist’s activity in research, manufacture and marketing of aerosol and powder inhalers, has mobilized the IDEC SANTÉ works teams since the end of 2019. The keys to this technical production unit are due to be handed over in June 2022.
AN ICONIC PROJECT
CHIESI, an Italian pharmaceutical laboratory at the forefront of the development of medicines to combat respiratory pathologies, has renewed its faith in IDEC SANTÉ to upgrade its industrial site based in La Chaussée-Saint-Victor. This operation, which includes the construction of an extension to a production unit for medicinal products in the form of metered dose inhalers, is part of CHIESI’s strategy to secure the supply of medicinal products in all its markets and to accommodate an increase in its activity. This project, which represents an investment of 50 million euros and will create 50 new jobs, illustrates the Italian laboratory’s determination to pursue its expansion throughout Europe, particularly in France.
A LONG-STANDING PARTNERSHIP
This 5,400-m² extension and 1,900-m² redevelopment project is the continuation of a successful initial collaboration with IDEC SANTÉ, which already designed and built the existing 5,580-m² site delivered in 2014. IDEC SANTÉ’s renowned expertise, its grasp of BIM, its ability to formulate a tailor-made response and the implementation of an effective Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) approach were key factors in renewing this partnership. The turnkey support offered by IDEC SANTÉ, from the design of a project based on the client’s requirements to its construction, was also a significant factor.
THE FIRST STONE IS SET TO BE LAID IN JULY
Work on this extension that began at the end of 2019 is progressing at full speed, despite the health crisis that impacted the original planned schedule. With strict measures in place to ensure the safety of everyone involved, the worksite was quickly restarted to allow normal activity to resume. The symbolic laying of the foundation stone for this project is slated for early July. It will mark the commencement of the structural work. Building is scheduled to take 35 months and will go on until 2022, with several deliveries planned as early as next year.
