IDEC SANTÉ is working with CHIESI on the upgrade of its factory located in La Chaussée-Saint-Victor (41).It is organized around the construction of an extension that includes a pharmaceutical production area and a storage area, as well as the redevelopment of the existing site, including the recently delivered cafeteria.
Maxime joined IDEC SANTÉ in 2011 as a Works Supervisor. After a few years, he was promoted to Senior Works Supervisor and then to Works Group Manager, a position he currently holds on the CHIESI project. “As the Group Manager for this project, my main task is to coordinate all the work packages and employees, be the direct link with the client and transmit the client’s demands to my team” explains Maxime.
A rapidly evolving activity
The CHIESI plant located in La Chaussée-Saint-Victor (41) is the Group’s flagship site for the manufacture of medicines in powder form and the packaging of medicines in aerosol form, which are used to treat respiratory pathologies.
“This new project focuses on the expansion of a manufacturing unit for medicines in the form of metered-dose aerosols”, explained Franck Vilijn, CHIESI’s Plant Manager, at the launch of this project. “This modernization of our facilities is intended to support the development of the CHIESI Group by enabling us to secure the supply of aerosol medicines to all our markets and, above all, to build an aerosol manufacturing unit for the Group’s future propellant with a minimum carbon footprint.
The cafeteria has just been delivered
After work began during the construction of the extension building in early November, the cafeteria was delivered in early April. “Initially, a simple refurbishment of the cafeteria was planned as a ‘key holder to the contract’ at CHIESI.In the end, the client decided to take this refurbishment to a new level, to make the cafeteria more noble and give it a higher status, echoing what was done at the Parma headquarters”, explains Maxime.
The new cafeteria was designed in-house by GROUPE IDEC architects, who focused on creating an airy, bright and pleasant atmosphere. The cafeteria features a green wall, noble materials and a distinctive partition shape to enhance the premium look. “We demolished the existing cafeteria to completely rebuild it and add a 107 m² extension in order to double its surface area.It will now seat about 50 people”, adds Maxime.
The redevelopment work is underway
After the delivery of the cafeteria, the quality control laboratories were delivered on May 19. The client will now move to the newly delivered area so that the IDEC SANTÉ teams can refurbish the last laboratories with a total surface area of 160 m² and 340 m² of offices. “We will begin demolishing the existing building at the beginning of July so that we can rebuild and complete this final phase of the project” explains Maxime. This is the last phase before the final delivery scheduled for December 2022, after 3 years of work.
